New passport regulations go into effect 6/1/09, require every one entering the U.S. to have a valid passport. Cruise passengers traveling on a closed looped cruise are exempt from this new requirement. A closed loop cruise is a cruise that embarks and disembarks passengers at the same US port. If you do not have a passport and are cruising on a closed looped cruise you will need to have a government issued ID and a certified copy of your birth certificate. Passports are still recommended, if an emergency arises and you have to fly back to the US you will need a passport. Avoid the rush apply for your passport today.
